Sometime

Sometimes wanting to fulfill an ambition you have to sacrifice not being around the ones you love most. That was what I thought Susan was feeling when she started working again. It was yesterday that Susan came home around half past eleven, after her first day working. When she reached home all the children were already asleep.

I could tell that she missed the children so much as they did and she asked me about them once she entered the house. I told her the kids were fine and that Rose was great with the kids, but she insisted on checking on all the kids. So I let her be and just waited until she finished and must have been up there for at least an hour. When she came down she was a little bit calmer than before and she asked me so many questions about what happened while she was away.

Well I told her many things but what happened before dinner was what made her sad (read yesterday post). I was really surprise coz I thought she would be amused and laughed but it rather made her sad. I asked her why and she said that she felt she should have been here with us and laughing together. Well I told her that was a silly thing to say as she was the excitement and it would not have happened if she was here. Then Susan started to smile again and said “Yeah”.

I thought now I better be a bit thoughtful when I said anything to Susan about what happens when she’s at work. Maybe next time I won’t be that lucky and get off so easy….heheh.

So now I’m leaving you guys with these paintings by Edvard Munch and his biography  while I figure out what to say next time…..enjoy!!!

The screamed

I’ve just finished having dinner with my children and they are now all busy doing their school homework. As you all might have known, Susan have started working (read previous post) again and that left me and the children until she returned around 11 pm.

Rose is already in her room resting (watching TV) after cleaning up the dinner table. Everything seem to go well today, as I’ve picked up Anna and the twins after school, but something happened before dinner that made everybody excited. It all started while we were waiting for Rose to prepare dinner and the kids and I were watching the TV. Suddenly Anna shouted “mother” when she saw Susan doing a live broadcast on a news flash. Sam was clapping his hands and was yelling something (which I was not sure of) and the twins were jumping up and down the sofa excited seeing their mother on TV. Well at that time it sounded like there was a riot going on in the house and all hell had broken lose with sounds of screaming, clapping hands and the twin’s whistling and cheering their mom. I told the children to be quiet but still they are all so excited seeing their mum. As for myself I am so proud of my Susan for appearing in the TV and I think I’ll be getting phone calls from relatives asking about it. But for now its time to check up on the kids and I’ll leaves you guys with these painting from Basuki (Basoeki) Abdullah and his biography…enjoy!

Awesome breakfast

Today’s breakfast was awesome. I think that was what Susan (my wife) and Rose (new housekeeper) had in mind when they prepared the breakfast. It has been a long time since we had so many food for breakfast. There was so much food on the table that even the twins (known to have the biggest appetite) were surprise when they saw it. We had chicken porridge, sausages, scrambled eggs and even French fries on the table. I knew in my mind that this was Susan’s ways of saying thank you to the family for supporting her and allowing her to work again. So as to show appreciation for Susan and Rose's effort, I told my children to eat up and I think the twins are the one that really appreciated this breakfast.

As Susan will be doing the second shift she won’t be back till eleven tonight and I think she and Rose will be cooking something very special for lunch and dinner . Well that’s for us all to find out later. I’ve reached the office now and about to start working so I’ll leave you guys with these painting from Affandi and his biography......enjoy!

Music Monday: I Don't Want to Miss a Thing (Aerosmith)

All things are just about done. I’ve finished painting the housekeeper bed room, vacuumed the carpet and cleaning the closet. Earlier this morning Susan and I interviewed this nice and friendly woman named Rose sent by the agency. I don’t know why but the both of us seemed to like this Rose. The way she talked and interacted with us seemed to be natural and she’s so polite and humble. She also came with a very well referral from her previous employee. It seems that she has been with them for almost six years and that the only reason they had to lay her off is because they were migrating to another country. .The both of us asked her many question on how she feels about children, cooking and cleaning and she answered them so honestly and in a very comforting way to hear. To cut a long story short, we decided to hire her and told her we’ll be picking her up this evening at the agency. So, like I’ve said everything is getting along well and as for my Susan who will be working again on Monday I dedicate this week Music Monday to her. It’s by Aerosmith - I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing...

Bali’s Life By Willem Gerard Hofker

I’m happy to say that everything is headed in the right direction. I’ve rescheduled all meeting for next week to the morning and renovation the library into a bedroom is almost done. I’ve to thank my nephew for that coz he’s the one (with some friends) that moved all the shelves, furniture and books and placed it tidily into the store
room. I’m actually quite surprise when Susan (my wife) called me at work and told me that she had ask Eric (nephew) to help moved the furniture and he agreed to come and do it. Now the only thing left to do is paint job and I think I can do it myself tomorrow.

As for the housekeeper thing, I’ve called up the agency and gave our request and they told me that they will send some candidates (housekeeper) for me and my wife to interview tomorrow morning. Well, let’s hope they send some qualified and experience ones to interview as it would be chaos if we didn’t get one by Monday.

Ok guys I think it's better I hit the sack now as I’ve a room (not canvas or board, lol) to paint tomorrow but I’ll leave you guys with this paintings from Willem Gerard Hofker and his biography.

Chinese paintings by Wu Guanzhong

I think I have so many things to do. The most important one is to re-schedule all meeting with potential clients to the morning session as I need to pick up Anne and the twins after school. My wife used to be the one but now that she’s working again, I guest I’ll have to do it until we can find someone who can do it for us. We have also agreed to hire a housekeeper to do the cooking, laundry and cleaning of the house. The housekeeper will also need a room to sleep in and I think for now the library room will just have to do, but first we have to move all the shelves, furniture s and books to the store room and that’s gonna be a much tiring  job to do. Maybe on Saturday or Sunday I’ll try to get some help from friends or relatives. My wife’s job will be in three shift, 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm and 11pm-7am. But she won’t be doing the third shift coz that was already the agreement with the company. And I think I need to make a list on the most important things.

While I’ll be writing down the list. I’ll leave you guys with this few paintings from Wu Guanzhong and his biography.

Chinese Art by Lin Feng Mian

Today I had half day leave at work coz my I had to accompany my wife to the TV network as I've mentioned in yesterday's post. We decided to met there around 2pm as it would be such a long journey for me if I had to go home and picked her up first as the TV network office is near my office. When I arrived, she was already there and we both went straight up to her ex-Boss’s office.

I was quite surprise as many of my wife's former colleague still remembered her and greeted us hello. As we had an appointment we were allowed into the boss’s office once we arrived. We had a long discussion and finally came to an agreement about what her duties would be, working hours, contract terms and the best part of all is the salary. After the contract was signed we went home to tell the kids. At home and after telling the kids about their mummy going back to work, we got many responses and question from them and we try to answer them wisely and we are now still answering question from them. As my wife and me had a lot of explaining and organizing to do with the children, I’ll will leave you guys with this painting from a Chinese artist named Lin Feng Mian. Check out the biography of Lin Feng Mian in my earlier post as well.

Michelangelo Buonarroti The Artist

Today my wife told me about a phone call she received. It was from her former boss from the TV (my wife used to be a TV spokeswoman) network. She told me that she was offered her previous job as they needed an experienced reporter as the recent one is taking an extended maternity leave.

My wife did the same thing when she gave birth to our youngest child and decided to be a housewife instead. She was able to work before as Sam and the twins were taken care of by her mother but her mother died just before Anne was born. So now my wife is in some kind of dilemma as she wants to work again and as Anna is now older she wants to fulfill her ambitions.

She asked my opinion and wanted to know if I was reluctant about her going to work again. All I told her was that it’s a big decision to be made in a hurry and I will leave it all up to her. One thing is for sure if she decide to work again, there’s gonna be a lot of changes in the house. Ok while I discuss this matter with her I‘ll leaves you guys with these painting from Michelangelo Buonarroti and his biography…enjoy!

Woman by Gustav Klimt

Today’s whether is not really friendly. It rained from I sat foot outside my home to work and it is still raining as I’m writing this entry . It’s not just the rain it’s also followed by strong wind blowing all day long and on my way back home I saw a tree fell. Luckily no one was hurt and did not cause a major traffic jam but it sure slowed down the traffic as drivers slowed down their cars to see what happened. Now I’m home and after taking a nice warm bath and eating dinner with the family, all the tiredness seemed to slowly disappear. And yes. I’m writing this entry with my laptop in the living room, with my wife beside me and the children all lying lazily watching the TV. But I think Anna and the twins are already sleepy and I think I would put them to bed. While I tuck my children to bed I’ll leave you guys with these painting by Gustav Klimt. Enjoy!

The wrestling match

Today Ray and Roy (twins) decided to have a wrestling match. It all started because of a silly report card which Roy got an A+ while Ray had a B-. Roy decided to show me the report as I’ve promise that whoever received an A+ 3 times in a row will get extra allowances for the next 7 days but whoever gets an B- three times in a row, will have his allowance cut (actually this was the agreement made by the twins themselves to me). As this is Roy 3rd times getting an A+ he will surely receiver extra pocket money but also as this is Ray 3rd times getting B- he will have to get his allowance cut. So this is when the wrestling match begins…. Luckily no one was hurt and my wife found out before it gets too ugly. Now the new deal is who ever gets three A+ in a row will receive extra pocket money but the one that gets B- don’t receive anything. That’s what I get trying to motivate my children and boys, will be boys.

I think I need some painting to cool me down and I like to share these few painting with you guy. It’s from Georgia O’Keeffe ….enjoy!

More Brilliant Works of Rembrandt van Rijn

Since I decided not to go to the fishing trip with my buddies, I decided to just hang around the house and spend some time with my children. But it was just 8am in the morning Sam (eldest son) went out saying something like he have plans to hang out with some friends. I thought I still have Ray and Roy (the twins) to accompany me but they too ran out to the video games store. I thought I still had Anna (youngest daughter) but she too went out with my wife to a neighbor home to help out preparing for a birthday party later in the afternoon. So I'm left all alone at home on a Saturday morning. It's not that bad really coz it's so quiet that I think I can catch up on my sleeping…hehe. While I try to get some sleep I'll leave you guys with these painting by Rembrandt van Rijn and his biography. Enjoy!

Heart and Soul of ...

Well not much is going on guys, except the weekend is coming. A few of my friends have round up a fishing adventure at sea and have asked me to come along. At that time I happily agreed but now I'm not quite sure. It's not that I have any other plan this weekend but it's because of the rain these few days. I think this year rainy season start a bit early and have already showed sign that it's gonna be a big one too. Well I just have to wait and see then.

For today's post I have choose the famous Edvard Munch and here is his biography and a few of his artworks.

Edvard Munch was born on December 12th, 1863, in Norway and died on 1944.. At the age of 17 he was tutored by Christian Krohg a naturalist painter, who was quite famous in Norway. Krogh naturalist style of painting had a big influence on Munch where he incorporated his own expressionist tendencies works. Munch also spent considerable time learning philosophical matters where he then decided to paint with his soul and not his eyes.

Landscape by Vincent van Gogh

Tonight at 7 pm my family is going out for dinner. It's to celebrate my elders (Sam) son double victory yesterday. As you might have known (read yesterday post) I went off a bit early from work to watch Sam play and it was all worth while. He was brilliant in handling the ball and even score a goal!

Actually the second goal was from his assistance too as it was all his dribbling and passing the ball to another team player that lead to the second goal and he might even had scored more goals if the coach had not replace him with another player during half time.

The coach had to replace him because the team was already winning and the other coach (basketball) asked him to rest Sam for he is also needed to play in the basketball game later on. The soccer team won 2-0 yesterday. In the basketball game Sam played well too but I can see that he was a little exhausted. Well they also manage to win the game also and I'm very proud of Sam coz he managed to get both the
coach's attention and trust to let him play in both matches. “Well done Sam!”.

Now here is some paintings I've chosen for today's post. It's from Vincent van Gogh . You can read about his biography in my previous post….thanks and enjoy.

Annual sports day

Today is my elder son school's annual sports day. It is organized to encourage student to participate in sports. Many sports are going to be played today and the most waited for is the soccer and basketball match. Parents are invited to attended and to give support to their children and the school team (donation are
always welcome).

As my son is in his senior and last year in the school he will be playing in the school team against the other invited school team. My son can be considered as a jock coz he is in both the soccer and basketball school team and he will be playing in both the matches. Boy, he is gonna be so tired.

My wife and my other three kids will be there early coz there is also a carnival in the morning. The games itself will kick off at 4pm for the soccer match and 6pm for the basketball match. I think I can get there before 4pm coz all my work at the office is done and I have asked my boss's permission to get off a bit early today (which he already approved).

Let’s hope my son team wins today and what ever happens I'll be there to support him.

So now I’m leaving you guys with these painting by Francisco de Goya y Lucientes

”Wish us luck guys!….enjoy!

More of Pablo Picasso

Today as I was in the living room watching TV and enjoying a nice cup of coffee suddenly I heard my third child screaming. The screaming came from the kitchen so I rushed there to find out what happened. Apparently my wife who was in the bedroom across the living room also heard the scream and ran to the kitchen as fast as she could thinking something bad had happened. As we were both in such in a hurry to get there, we apparently didn't see each other coming. Without noticing and unable to stop we bumped hard into each other. My wife seems to be the most injured coz she fell and her leg knocks on a table next to her. I was ok and quickly helped her up.

Luckily she was not hurt except for a bruise in the leg. The funny thing was that as I was helping my wife up, me third child came and asked what happened. The both of us were really surprised and asked her the reason why she screamed in the kitchen previously. With an innocent face, she told us that she saw a cockroach and was frightened. My wife looked at me and we all started laughing while hugging each other.

After the incident I continue watching TV while finishing the cup of coffee and I told myself no one was hurt and I think we need a bigger house as the kids are getting bigger and always running around and bumping into one another. Well whether we need a bigger house or not that will be other issue but for now here's some painting from Pablo Picasso and his biography (read my previous post)……enjoy!

Gustav Klimt Inspiration

Last night I had a dream and in that dream I caught a bird. I told my wife about it and she told me that it was a good dream and good things will happen today. I really didn't take what she said seriously coz I think that she was just humoring me. Well, now I think she’s telling the truth coz I really had a good day. First of all, the journey to the office was smooth and at work there not much work to be done. But the best thing that happened was that my boss invited me (that seldom happen) to lunch.

Oh how I wish I have that dream again tonight so that I can buy a lottery ticket and win. If I won the lottery I would surely buy myself some nice painting to share with you guys (my own) but for now here are some of Gustav Klimt painting and biography.

Gustav Klimt was born in the year 1862, in Austria and died on 1918. Klimt studied art in the University of Plastic Arts in Vienna. He often traveled to the outskirts of Vienna, finding inspiration in nature particularly in landscape. But his artworks always seems to have that highly stylish feeling and superficial….enjoy !

Music Monday: If You're Not Here (Menudo)

I think I will have the worse Monday morning today as I had to go to work. My body just doesn't seem to want to obey me. My head hurts every time I tried opening my eyes and my knee trembles every time I set foot on the floor.

Well that is what I get after a long and enjoyable weekend (read my previous post). Luckily I have my loving and patient wife to take care of me when this happens. She can always seem to cheer me up and drive the pain away. "What would I be without her" there I’ve said it “I love my wife even more then before. So today's Music Monday is dedicated to her. This is the song entitled “If you’re not here” by Menudo…enjoy!!

The Wonder of Michelangelo Buonarroti

Have you ever had a great big laugh at the mall recently? Well, my family and I did  when we were out shopping at the mall last  Sunday. As there was an exhibition on reptile like snakes and African lizard going on and there was a lot of people and the paging announcement was going off like crazy calling for people to move their car or for someone to meet someone else at the front entrance etc. Every time an announcement was made most of the visitor would lookup in silence as if looking and waiting for something and this caused my family a lot of laughter but there was one announcement that really made many and even myself bust into laughter. It was when the sounds ( ding dong) went out first but followed by silence. Then an announcement came on but it was followed by an apology saying “Sorry I press the wrong button", I broke out in laughter spontaneously and I could swear I saw a woman spitting out her drink from her mouth and started laughing. I think she was drinking when the spoke person said that and just couldn't swallow the drink. lol!

Enough of joking around and now let’s talk about Michelangelo Buonarroti. Here is his biography. Michelangelo Buonarroti was born on 1475 and died on 1564. He traveled a lot from Bologna to Roma where he saw many sculpture, statues and painting that inspired him. He achieved fame and artist status through his work, the statue of David symbolizing the liberation of the republic of Florence. He was so famous at that time even the Pope Julius II asked him to paint the ceiling of the Sistine chapel in the Vatican. He later covered the entire ceiling with over 300 figures, from The Creation of Adam to Noah and the great Deluge. Here are a few of his artworks….enjoy!
